  • Episode 3: The Ins and Outs of Practicing Functional Medicine and the Impact on Mental and Physical Health

We interviewed Dr. Karen Koffler, functional medicine doctor, who works at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Miami. Dr. Koffler started off on a pathway to become an ER doctor, but realized that the constant cycling of the same patients being admitted to the ER with the same reasons was destroying her sense of efficacy in the medical system. Dr. Koffler found herself taking on an opportunity to be in one of the very first cohorts learning functional medicine, where she found her calling. Dr. Koffler also discusses the hardships going through the process of becoming a functional medicine doctor as well as the benefits to her and her patients.
