    Postpartum depression is much more common than we realize and can be very isolating. I’m here to empower you with the knowledge of how to cope with postpartum depression as a Muslim woman. I have experience with postpartum depression, and I wanted to share my story so that other Muslim moms can know they are not alone.

    I talk about the most important things I learned about coping with postpartum depression as a Muslim woman, some of the most common mistakes we make and how we can overcome them. I discuss what it’s like to have postpartum depression as a Muslim woman, the impact it had on me, how Islam played a role in dealing with it, and finally some tips for managing your mental health during pregnancy so you don’t experience postpartum depression or at least learn to manage it.

  • Four Journaling Prompts for Mental Fitness | Mini Mental

    I remember my first journal. I made it from an old binder, some clear wrapping paper, and a stapler. I starting writing in it and felt like I escaped to my own little world. In writing, I found control over my monstrous thought.

    We try to manage all of our thoughts in our heads. For people with mental health challenges that can be like trying to brush your teeth with Oreo cookies in your mouth. You end up being frustrated and get no cleaning done. So I find, journaling is a great clean-up for your mind. Listen to find out which prompts I use to write.
