Robert Podgurski has been writing about magic and practicing the art as well as investigating literature. As part of his magical practices Robert has employed various yogic disciplines, qui gong along with technical mountaineering as part of his syncresis for over two decades. 

From his perspective poetry, magic, art, climbing and mysticism are all part and parcel of consciousness exploration.

The Sacred Alignments and Sigils, North Atlantic Books, 2019 is one of the most recent manifestations of his life-long project(ive)s. In this work Podgurski establishes a practical as well as a scholarly reference for the relationship between sigils, symbols, and writing as an extension of the visionary magical field.

As a continuation of this operation Podgurski is launching his forthcoming work, Enochian Sigil Magic prospectively in 2026-27, with Inner Traditions. This monograph encompasses the history of the aethyr in western consciousness as a the vehicle of the soul up to and including the current era. He also establishes the implementation of theurgy and spontaneous magical practices for engaging the aetheric medium in this study. As a primary starting point his research for this book has relied upon Dee’s own annotations within certain seminal Neoplatonic texts from his library. 

 Podgurski has also authored of several works in poetry that are extensions of his engagement with magic. His most recent collection In the Shadow of This Branch, Dos Madres Press was released in 2024. Along with poetry Podgurski has also authored fiction including his forthcoming novel, Beyond the Lens of Time. He holds an BS in Psychology form the University of Pittsburgh, and a MA in literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

David’s work does not decorate the surface of mysticism. It tears open the architecture beneath it. David Chaim Smith is a practitioner of contemplative mysticism who documents his exploratory work in a rare visual form called Esoteric Cartography. This style of graphic notation arose in 2006 as an amalgamation of Hermetic Qabbalah, Hebrew Kabbalah, Spiritual Alchemy, and wisdom from a variety of non-dual sources. On the surface, the work lives exclusively within the symbolic language of the Western Esoteric Tradition, but below the surface it serves some rarely investigated elements. One of the main influences is a radical interpretation of the devotional Kabbalah of Chassidut, which quite naturally blends with Hermetic Qabbalah because both traditions share the same root axioms. 

This is quite an unusual synergy because the dominant view that characterizes the work is decidedly non-theistic.
