Is there some birthday when we're expected to put romance away and accept that part of our lives is over?

Kevin is 71 years old—and he's very much in love.

In Episode 2 of Love Without Limits, Kevin explores what happens to love, dating, companionship and the need for human connection as we grow older, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community.

What happens when someone finds themselves alone at 60, 70 or even 80? What about the person who comes out later in life, loses a longtime partner, sees a relationship end, or simply never found the person they hoped to find?

And why does growing older sometimes make people feel invisible?

Kevin also examines the assumptions surrounding age-gap relationships through his own relationship with Marco, who is 44 years younger. Are two people at very different stages of life automatically wrong for one another—or are respect, honesty, consent, kindness and the way two people treat each other far more important than the numbers on their birth certificates?

There's another difficult question age-gap couples inevitably encounter:

“But what about the future?”

Perhaps that's the wrong question.

None of us—whether we're 27 or 71—is guaranteed a particular number of tomorrows. Maybe what matters isn't how much time we're promised, but what we choose to do with the time we have.
