Are Educators Becoming Obsolete With Online Learning? With Shandeen White | PROFILE S2 Ep: 2
With the ongoing pandemic and the rise in online learning, we are being faced with several challenges; most homes are not conducive to learning, some students relied on schools for access to computers, and the lack of socializing has a negative impact on mental health and results in faster burn out from students, educators, and teachers. Educators are now having to determine which aspects of online learning will be carried forward as schools are reopening and which parts of an in-person classroom are vital to the development of students and cannot be replaced by technology. This episode's discussion features Shandeen White, an educator, curriculum developer, and examiner.
Growing up in an inner-city in Kingston, Jamaica, Shandeen rose from being in "the lost cause class" in primary school to graduating with honors from her Master's Degree program in Education. Shandeen has been a part of the education system for over 20 years, mentoring a range of students from all ages and backgrounds, helping them to realize their potential. She has seen education evolve over the years and is here to bring us into the future of education and learning with online education becoming the norm.
