How I became a leader: My employer threw me in the deep end with half a life jacket, vague directions and seemingly no consideration for whether or not I could swim. And then there I was leading a team of people with absolutely no idea what I was doing. Confusion, frustration and overwhelm were the themes of my days, and I felt like I could never catch my breath.
Today, I operate in my role with the confidence and clarity of a skydiving monk - not because I've figured everything out, but because I've gotten reeeaaally good at figuring out where to go when I need to figure something out. And, this podcast is here to help you do the same.
I may not solve every problem, and I may find myself making mistakes more often than I'd like to admit. But, if I know anything for sure, it's this: if you care enough to put in the work, you can lead from wherever you are - starting now.
