Since then, our guest and his father collaborated on many great films, including “Identity Crisis”, “Posse”, “Panther”, and the terrific TV movie “Gang in Blue”, to name just a few. On television, our guest has brought us dozens of outstanding performances in classic TV shows like “The Cosby Show”, “The X Files”, “Law & Order”, “LA Law”, “All My Children”, “Rude Awakening”, “Damages” and “Superstition”. He’s also co-starred in many great TV movies and miniseries including “Stompin’ at the Savoy”, “10,000 Black Men Named George”, “44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-out”, “Sharpshooter”, “Mama Flora’s Family”, and many more.

Rolling Stone magazine included her on its list of the 100 greatest country artists of all time, and she is included on CMT’s list of the 40 greatest women in country music. And let’s not forget that in 1983, People Magazine ranked her at number 2 on its list of the 50 most beautiful people in the world.

Welcome to a very special edition of our show, which will be all about some very exciting things happening in my life. I’ve written a memoir called “Without Prejudice: My Life as a Gay Judge”, which chronicles my turbulent, tempestuous and sometimes hilarious journey from being severely bullied as a child, to being rejected by my parents after coming out to them when I was 19, to becoming a social outcast as an openly gay member of the legal profession, and then miraculously getting myself appointed Canada’s first openly gay judge, culminating in my reinvention following retirement, as a celebrity interviewer. And what’s even more exciting, is that the book has been made into a Hollywood feature film called “Without Prejudice”, directed by the brilliant Shane Stanley and starring David Arquette, David Mazouz, Rachelle Lefevre, Joe Lando, Rob Mayes, and Ernest Harden Jr. The movie will be premiering in the Fall of 2026 and in due course, you’ll be able to see it on a major streaming platform.  A few weeks ago, I received an intriguing request from my dear friend and colleague, Craig Bennett from Australia, who is the host of a terrific and very popular interview program on YouTube called “Celebrity Drop”. He very kindly suggested that he come on our show and turn the tables on me, to interview me about the book and movie. I jumped at the chance, because I can’t imagine a more fun way to let you all know about everything that’s happening.

Today’s special guest, Clay Aiken, is a highly popular and beloved superstar whom we ALL fell in love with back in 2003, in Season 2 of “American Idol”, when he finished in second place in one of the most hotly contested and nerve-wracking finales in the history of the show, attracting a staggering 40 million viewers. 

After that, his music career ignited like wildfire, and his debut single, “This Is The Night,” made him the first artist in history to have a first hit song debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His first album, “Measure of a Man”, was an even more astonishing success, going triple-platinum in record time. His holiday album, “Merry Christmas With Love”, posted the biggest first-week sales by any holiday album in history, a record it still holds today. And last but certainly not least, our guest is a highly respected philanthropist. For 10 years he was a UNICEF ambassador, working tirelessly to improve the lives of children around the world. He’s a passionate advocate for children with disabilities, and in 2006, President Bush appointed him to the Presidential Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. And in 2007, for his work with the National Inclusion Project, he received the Children's Advocacy Award from the National Center for Learning Disabilities. Two years later, he received The Family Circle Award from the Family Equality Council.

On today’s show, we’ll be celebrating the life and career of the man who will always be known and remembered as the king of late-night television, Johnny Carson, who hosted the Tonight Show for 30 years, from 1962 to 1992. Now even though our guest was only 16 years old when Johnny Carson went off the air, he can easily be described as Johnny’s biggest fan. He hosted The Carson Podcast for 8 years, which received a Webby Award nomination for Best Comedy Podcast, and he’s interviewed dozens of Johnny’s guests, employees, family and friends. He’s a well-known media personality who’s appeared on many major shows including Good Morning America, the Today Show, MSNBC, and the highly acclaimed CNN docuseries, “The Story of Late Night”. And most recently, he’s written a wonderful book entitled, “Love Johnny Carson: One Obsessive Fan’s Journey to Find the Genius Behind the Legend”. The book sets the record straight about who Johnny Carson really was, according to those who knew him best. And he takes us behind the scenes of the Tonight Show and chronicles the most iconic moments on that groundbreaking show.
