S2E2: Lupita's Story: Guided by the Spirit

What does it look like to trust God when life doesn’t go according to plan?

Lupita grew up Catholic, surrounded by prayer and the faith of her family, but it wasn’t until adulthood that her relationship with God truly began to blossom. After losing both of her parents, completing RCIA, and discovering a deeper love for her Catholic faith, Lupita found herself facing painful and unexpected trials—including a traumatic experience, a broken relationship, and seasons when simply moving forward took courage.

But instead of allowing suffering to pull her away from God, Lupita leaned closer. Through prayer, counseling, retreats, community, and serving others, she discovered that God’s presence doesn’t always mean He will lead us around suffering. Sometimes, He walks with us straight through it.

Today, Lupita’s life is centered on her faith, her husband, her church, and serving God and His people. And the word the Holy Spirit placed on her heart—“guide”—has become a beautiful reminder of how she now sees her journey: God is always leading, even when we cannot yet see where He is taking us.

Her story is a powerful witness to the promise of Isaiah 58:11: “The Lord will guide you always.”
