Girls with Grafts is back for Season 9! šŸŽ‰ Rachel and Amber sit down with burn nurse Kailin Kyle to talk about her path into nursing and burn care, which began after her uncle was treated at the Connecticut Burn Center.

Kailin shares how attending her first American Burn Association conference inspired her to become more involved with Phoenix Society and help revitalize her hospital’s Phoenix SOAR Program. ā¤ļø Now serving as Co-Lead Coordinator, she helps facilitate monthly support groups, coordinate certified peer support visits, and recruit new peer supporters.

Together, they discuss the power of peer support—both through traditional visits and community-building experiences such as events and gatherings. Kailin also reflects on attending Phoenix World Burn Congress and shares advice for other burn care professionals interested in starting or rebuilding a peer support program.šŸ„

Meet Our GuestĀ 

Kailin Kyle has been a registered nurse for nearly five years and will celebrate three years as a burn nurse this summer. Her interest in burn care began in 2021, when her uncle was treated at the Connecticut Burn Center. After attending her first American Burn Association conference in 2023, Kailin became involved with Phoenix Society and later became Co-Lead Coordinator for the Connecticut Burn Center’s Phoenix SOAR Program. Today, she helps host monthly support groups, coordinates certified peer support visits, and recruits new peer supporters. Kailin is proud to help build a safe, supportive community for burn survivors in Connecticut.
