Heidi Zimmer is a yoga teacher, meditation coach, and founder of the stunning Wild Rice Retreat.

Located on the shores of Lake Superior just outside beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin, Wild Rice Retreat creates a space for grounding the mind, body, and spirit through integrative artistic and holistic life experiences.  Our focus is on artistic excellence in teaching and thoughtful, supportive programming for individual growth.  Rooted in the idea of exploring and supporting expression in nature, Wild Rice Retreat offers a home for healing guided, personal and group retreats, meeting space, and events following the pillars of nourishment, expression, and movement.  Wild Rice Retreat is a vibrant, creative, and beautiful destination retreat center in Upper Midwest.

Heidi is an experienced real estate developer with a compassionate and creative approach to land stewardship and development. Spending 14 years with Artspace Projects, Inc., Heidi led the development efforts of arts-led affordable and sustainable housing and commercial developments around the United States. In addition to being committed to artistic excellence, she has a deep appreciation of and connection to the Great Lakes, fine arts, music, dance and nature, along with a passion about one’s living and working environment.  

Heidi also teaches yoga and is a 200hr RYT through Yoga Alliance. Studying with Parayoga Level 3 Instructor Tanya Boigenzahn at the Devanadi School of Yoga in Minneapolis, and Chanti Tacoronte-Perez @yantrawisdom, Heidi has also studied with Paulie Zink, Jeffrey Bores and other master instructors. She is passionate about creating nurturing and artistic spaces to develop the mind, body and spirit. Heidi believes in the restorative power of nature and the importance of purposeful design and a powerful sense of place.  In 2018, Heidi formed Superior Living Arts, LLC, Wild Rice Retreat’s parent organization. She acquired the property and began programming the vision while overseeing the long term development aspects of the expanding campus.

Heidi lives in Minneapolis with her husband Martin Ebelhardt, co-founder of Wild Rice Retreat and has two beautiful artistic daughters, Sarah and Molly.
