Welcome to The Story!We are a Podcast dedicated to talking to local musicians and others in the music realm and learning how they got their big break. Our goal is to coalesce all of our experiences together in one place so that we can be an inspiration and an encouragement to all new and upcoming musicians and production people whether they be bands, soloists, actors, set designers, light technicians, producers, etc!The first way we are going to accomplish this is by interviewing successful, local musicians to learn how they got where they are. What was their big break? What struggles did they face? What do they hope to do next? All those questions and more will be answered.The second way we are going to accomplish this is by interviewing popular, local venue owners to see exactly what they are looking for in a musician. How should a musician approach you for a gig? What skills outside of music would a musician need to organize a gig/event? How have other musicians approached you in the past? All of those questions will also be answered.What if you aren&#39;t a musician but interested in the production side of music? We got that too. We&#39;ll be bringing in local light technicians, set designers, videographers, you name it, we&#39;ll have it. All for the benefit of not only our community here in Lancaster, PA, but also for anyone who wants to be plugged in to the music scene whether it be in Lancaster or any other city.

Super excited to announce next guest, Daniel Keim, to The Story!From Central PA, Daniel started playing piano at 10, then guitar at 11 and eventually moved onto bass and ukulele. Daniel was homeschooled until 10th grade, and spent most of his days in junior high playing guitar, learning his favorite musicians&#39; songs while writing his own. When Daniel was 14, he turned a small storage closet in his parents&#39; basement into a make-shift recording studio. When Daniel made the switch to public school, he was excited to find out they had a Sound Engineering class where he learned a lot about music production. As he got older, life brought on hardships and responsibilities that drastically cut down his available time for music, but Daniel still kept his passion. In 2018, he decided he wanted to start my own podcast.It started out as just an open conversation forum for anybody that had something they were educated in speaking on, but having so many friends within the local music community, it quickly shifted into a music based podcast. She has performed internationally, as both as a solo and collaborative artist, at venues including the Smithsonian Museum of African American History, Epidaurus Festival, Liszt Academy, Carnegie Recital Hall, and Aaron Davis Hall. Among her collaborators are Metropolitan Opera soprano Priscilla Baskerville, Juno Award-winning clarinetist James Campbell, Grammy-winning clarinetist Doris Hall-Gulati, Grammy-nominated baritone Randall Scarlata, renowned countertenor Darryl Taylor, and members of the New York Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestras. Her engagements as a soloist with orchestra include the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Gunther Schuller. She and cellist Sara Male formed Duo Chiaroscuro in 2011; among their passions is performing concerts for people whose special needs prevent strict observance of concert protocols. Dr. Corley has recorded CD&amp;#39;s for Naxos, Albany, MSR Classical, Navona, and independent labels. Excerpts from her discs have been featured on radio and digital platforms, nationally and internationally. Welcome to The Story!

We are a Podcast dedicated to talking to local musicians and others in the music realm and learning how they got their big break.

Our goal is to coalesce all of our experiences together in one place so that we can be an inspiration and an encouragement to all new and upcoming musicians and production people whether they be bands, soloists, actors, set designers, light technicians, producers, etc!

The first way we are going to accomplish this is by interviewing successful, local musicians to learn how they got where they are. What was their big break? What struggles did they face? What do they hope to do next? All those questions and more will be answered.

The second way we are going to accomplish this is by interviewing popular, local venue owners to see exactly what they are looking for in a musician. How should a musician approach you for a gig? What skills outside of music would a musician need to organize a gig/event? How have other musicians approached you in the past? All of those questions will also be answered.

What if you aren't a musician but interested in the production side of music? We got that too. We'll be bringing in local light technicians, set designers, videographers, you name it, we'll have it. All for the benefit of not only our community here in Lancaster, PA, but also for anyone who wants to be plugged in to the music scene whether it be in Lancaster or any other city.
