-The Hoosiers survived a tough game vs. Northwestern last week and now head to Rutgers where they (should) take care of the Scarlet
Knights…a win for both Nebraska and Indiana would set up a 5-0 matchup that we talked about all offseason…how wild would it get in
Lincoln ahead of next week’s Big Noon Kickoff?
-Also, what’s going on at San Diego State? A MUMPS outbreak?! What year is this, 1930? 32 players on the injury list due to a mumps
outbreak…

Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy6m - Oct 2, 2026 - It’s the eve of Nebraska/Maryland…do fans believe this game will be as comfortable of a win as Vegas does?
-Vegas has consistently had this game as Nebraska being a 2 touchdown favorite, which makes sense considering Maryland’s game last
week vs. UCLA (54-3 loss) and Nebraska’s 4-0 start, the first such start since 2016 for the program
-Malik Washington is still a good QB and might be ready to prove his 4 INT performance last week was not who he really is…what
concerns do you have about this particular game?

Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy5m - Oct 1, 2026 - There’s a lot of good things going on for Nebraska football this year but one stat resonates so far on both sides of the ball
-Through 4 games (yes, against not great opponents)—Nebraska is 27-for-50 on 3 rd down conversions on offense (10 th nationally) and
has allowed 12-for-47 3 rd down attempts to be converted defensively (9 th nationally)
-Nebraska has struggled to get off the field on 3 rd down on defense for a few years and at times struggled to extend drives on offense…

-Maryland comes to town fresh off a 54-3 loss at home to UCLA….are you surprised Mike Locksley is still the head coach for this game
on Saturday after that and the rough stretch he’s had?
-We rave about Malik Washington yet he’s coming off a 4 interception game vs. UCLA, 2 of which were returned for TDs…what
happened and do you expect a bounce-back from him?
-What concerns you about Nebraska in this game? What areas do you feel good about Maryland’s chances to have success?

-Sark addressed media this week and said his team needs to cut down on “unacceptable” celebrations after big plays and scores. Sark
said, “We’ve got to do a better job of celebrating with one another. The moment you start to demean the opponent, the flags come
out.”
-Texas had 2 separate occasions of poor character in the win vs. Tennessee…we’ll see if they actually tone things down

Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy20m - Oct 1, 2026 - The AP Poll might not like Nebraska (yet), but one metric does based on its first 4 games…do we buy into the ESPN Football SP+ rankings?
-Nebraska is placed firmly in the 30s right now in the AP and Coaches Polls after their 4-0 start, which is fair with the competition that
they’ve faced. However, the ESPN SP+ rankings (by Bill Connelly) have Nebraska at 16 th in the country---ahead of Iowa and UCLA
(!)—but behind Penn State
-The rankings are ‘a predictive measure of team efficiency that takes into account tempo and opponent-adjust metrics such as team’s
offense, defense and special teams ratings---and is ‘a measure of the most sustainable and predictable aspects of football’

Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy10m - Oct 1, 2026 - The Stool has caused a ruckus among some media outlets for Michigan State…do we stand by what we said?
-Connor alerted us yesterday of an article from ‘Spartan Avenue’ that was titled, “Nebraska media spreading blatant lies about Pat
Fitzgerald era at Michigan State,” and put our post from Monday with Sip saying that the crowd had “maybe 30,000 fans in the 2 nd half”
and the juice in the stadium didn’t seem very strong
-After attacking the show for our take…the article then went on itself to criticize the fanbase for poor 2 nd half turnouts, which seems
pretty hypocritical---does The Stool feel any need to go back on their stance or actually should they stand even firmer on it?

went on Saturday at Michigan State?
-We don’t know the status yet of Jamal Rule or Jacory Barney (or Brendan Black) for Saturday’s game vs. Maryland…will that
matter when playing a struggling defense?
-Dylan Raiola looked excellent when filling in for Dante Moore after the injury early 2 nd quarter at USC…is there a chance we see
Raiola vs. Nebraska on October 17 th in Eugene?
