Gaming Ministry?

For many in the Church the idea of gaming (board games, video games, DnD) seems like a pathway to darker things. But this week we talk to a young pastor who has found a way of taking a passion for gaming and turning it into a way of interacting with the community to gain access to their hearts for Christ. “Game & Table” is a ministry led by Pastor Dallas Tharp. We sure hope you will join us for the amazing conversation.

Why Parables?

Jesus spoke in parables to the crowds the began to follow him as the miracles grew and the message pierced the hearts of many. These parables spoke to the Church. They spoke to those who were hoping to follow. They spoke to the ones who had been left out. Those who were looking to harm him didn’t want to understand, so they did not. Or they understood and were enraged. For these weeks we will be covering the Parables of Jesus. Like usual this is just conversation. We sure hope you’ll joins us.

Parables - Good Samaritan?

When people think of the Christian religion they often think of a judgmental religion.  But the more we listen to Jesus the more we find that he wants to point to the disenfranchised as the ones who are doing what is right. Today we look at a conversation that Jesus had with a religious leader trying to justify themselves. Like usual this is just conversation. We sure hope you’ll joins us.

Why Parables?

Atonement is one of those Christiany Christian words that can confuse as much as it clears up. The meaning of atonement from a religious perspective can be divider as well. Many denominations have their own variation of what atonement means. This weeks conversation is not meant to completely clear all of this up, or argue with anyone. Like usual this is just conversation. We sure hope you’ll joins us.

Christian Perfection?

Are Christians perfect? Wow, saying they are would be a quick way to start an argument. A theologian named Charles Wesley used the term ‘Christian Perfection’ many years ago and in his day the blow back was incredible. It seems to be intuitive that no human is perfect on their own, but through Jesus we are made perfect. Rick and Todd discuss the topic this week and sure hope you will join us as we walk this out.

Is Jesus God?

In recent survey 43% of Christians agreed with the statement, “Jesus was a great teacher, but he was not God.” This set us to thinking, why do we think Jesus is God? Why is believing the Jesus is God an essential part of the Christian religion. This is not a new concept and disagreeing with it is not new either. We sure hope you will join us as we walk this out.

If God knows all and sees all, why to Christians bother with praying?  The Bible seems to tell us again and again to pray. Jesus, who we follow, prayed over and over. The Apostle Paul tells us to pray without ceasing.  So let’s walk through this.  Join us to discuss this important topic.

Why So Many Bibles?

Have you ever noticed how many different version of the Christian Bible there are? Why? What are all of these different versions for? Can they all be useful? Is there one “blessed” version? This week we walk through some of the reasons for different versions, and why there may be more use in the differences than you think.   Join us to discuss this important topic.

What is a Disciple?

“Go and make disciples of all nations”, Jesus tells us that this is job 1. But that begs the question, “What is a disciple?” Discipleship is such an important part of the Christian faith. Yet, even very successful churches are failing to build a solid base of discipleship. Maybe it is because they don’t start here. What does it mean to be a disciple?

A woman’s place in the delivery of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a topic that has divided the Church for centuries. We continue our conversation about women’s place in ministry. This week we discuss some of the controversy, and the call for women to be full partners in Jesus ministry.   Join us to discuss this important topic.

A woman’s place in the delivery of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a topic that has divided the Church for centuries. Today we meet four women who are actively involved in ministry. These women range from those just starting their ministry to those in senior positions. Join us to hear a bot it their stories.

What is worship? Is it just the song or music portion of our church services? Is it just the Church service? There are a ton of ways we use the term worship and it seems we have pigeon holed the term to mean far less than it does. We, as Christians, worship in many different ways. This wee Rick and I talk this out. Hope you will join us.

Is reading the Bible an important thing for Christians to do? If you have ever tried to read the Bible you may have noticed that this can be hard and people often fail. When we start anything time consuming you need a plan. This week we talk about why, how, and even a process for being successful.

If Jesus came today for the first time, would we recognize him? There are many ways of looking at this idea. Rick and I do a little thought experiment looking at what it might look like if the first coming of Jesus were to happen today. Where would he come to? Is He here today? Join us as we walk this out.

Christian Superstition?

Are there things that Christians believe or put faith in that are more like a good luck charm or magic? Is the belief in a religion at all a superstition? There a so many things that Christians put faith in that are not Jesus. We sure hope you can join us as we talk this out.

Get what you give?

In the Christian religion is there any expectation of getting back what you put into it? Would that be karma, or something different? Justice is an expectation but what does that look like in a Christian frame. We sure hope you can join us as we talk this out.
