Back in 2021, season 1 of the show was very different than what you are getting now. It was an audio documentary series with me, J.D., and his wife, Yolanda. Ron has lived his entire adult life as a Black man in a white world. Most of his friends were white, most of his co-workers were white, and he attended white hipster churches. Then in 2016 with the election of #45, everything changed. He had a crisis of faith and a racial identity crisis that sent him on a quest to reconnect with his blackness in a way he never has before. In this inaugural episode, meet Ron and his Black BFFs JD and Yolanda (whom he affectionately refers to as the “Dre & Bow” to his “Junior.”) Find out why this show exists and what to expect.
