Josh Sroka and Robb Spewak welcome Aaron Burns, director and producer of Jimmy, for a conversation about bringing an American screen legend’s most transformative years to the movies. From Hollywood stardom to World War II combat and the making of It’s a Wonderful Life, Aaron explains why Jimmy Stewart’s story became a film about service, hope, and finding a way forward. Aaron shares how KJ Apa captured Stewart’s voice and mannerisms without turning the performance into an impression, why he approached Jimmy as a Frank Capra movie, and how the team combined archival footage with recreated newsreels. He also discusses Kelly Stewart-Harcourt’s involvement, a cameo from Karolyn Grimes—Zuzu herself—and the reactions that meant the most to the filmmakers. Plus: honoring veterans, the difference between a timely story and a timeless one, Rob Riggle’s input on set, and the camera choices that show Jimmy’s isolation and return to joy. Robb has already watched the film twice, Josh offers a potential poster blurb, and Aaron picks his favorite Stewart movies—with one obvious choice taken off the table. Jimmy opens nationwide November 6, 2026. Jimmy Stewart was a Hollywood legend. To Kelly Stewart-Harcourt, he was Dad. Kelly joins Josh Sroka and Robb Spewak to share family stories, from the wartime diary discovered after his death to the mischievous sense of humor behind his familiar screen presence.Kelly discusses seeing KJ Apa portray her father in Jimmy, growing up near Lucille Ball and Jack Benny, fans picnicking on the family’s front lawn, and the poem about Beau that brought everyone to tears. Robb wants a seat at the captain’s table. Josh isn’t convinced there even is a captain’s table—and wearing a tie might be the least of their problems. This week, Josh Sroka and Robb Spewak compare clothes they’ve owned for decades, set some ground rules for visiting aliens, and dream up their ideal Super Bowl halftime shows. Elvis Presto sends them down a wonderfully strange rabbit hole, while a “raging tiger” story leaves Josh spectacularly disappointed. Then it’s back to Bayside for Saved by the Bell nostalgia, opening-day movie confessions, and Robb’s memories of watching The King of Queens come together in front of a live audience. Old shirts. Old TV. Absolutely no shortage of opinions. Watch, listen, and support the show: https://StillTalkinPodcast.comHosted by Josh Sroka and Robb Spewak. Is it cake—or is it just a lot of edible clay? Josh Sroka and Robb Spewak take on Is It Cake? Halloween and discover that liking cake, game shows, and Mikey Day does not necessarily mean liking all three together. From suspiciously easy reveals and confusing rules to eight-hour baking sessions, celebrity judges, and Robb’s many questions about Blippi, the guys cut through the frosting to ask what this show is really serving. Josh pitches his own sheet-cake masterpiece, Robb wonders whether any of these creations would actually taste good, and the conversation takes a predictably ridiculous turn toward “sexy Blippi.” Spoilers ahead: this discussion covers all three episodes, including the winner. Plus, the guys tee up Love Is Blind as their next Still Watchin’ adventure. Josh has hired an assistant. His name is Earl. Robb has one question: who the hell is Earl? In episode 006, Josh introduces his AI assistant, a tireless organizer with the attitude of Orioles legend Earl Weaver. Earl sorts founder messages, untangles a stack of toll notices, checks in with Josh’s wife, and offers thrift-store advice with a grumpy baseball-manager streak. Robb wonders when a computer became the third guy on the show—and whether his own assistant, Hector, needs a personality upgrade. Then the guys tackle baseball’s unwritten rules: stop blocking home plate for your selfie, and if you catch a playoff foul ball, do you really have to give it to a kid? Josh’s World Series longing leads to a Super Bowl memory involving Paul McCartney, which Robb takes very personally. Josh shares an encouraging update on Bella after a rough stretch of emergency-vet visits. Robb’s love of The Sting opens the door to an impressive playing-card collection, a shopping cart he wisely abandoned, and ideas for the final TMOS cruise. Plus: Disney pin collecting, memories of Robert’s Make-A-Wish trip, and a lightsaber adventure at the happiest—and hottest—place on earth. Meet Earl. He handles the paperwork. Josh and Robb handle the tangents. Still Talkin’ 005 — The Burger Box Robb drops his car key fob into the trash and turns the rescue mission into a game show. The contestants: fifteen open fast-food bags, two trash cans, and one man determined to prove he’s brilliant. The twist? The burger box. In Episode 005, Robb walks Josh through a garbage-day disaster and the surprisingly clever trick he uses to track down his missing key. Josh has a competing strategy, naturally, and the guys debate whether brains beat simply diving into the trash. Along the way, there’s a hard-fought used-car negotiation, a stash of root beer barrels, and considerably more mayonnaise than anyone wanted. The conversation takes a more personal turn as Josh shares a frightening emergency-vet visit with his dog Bella and the staggering cost of getting answers. Robb relates with stories about his aging dog Linus, a failed nail-trimming appointment, and a groomer whose voice sends him straight into *Euphoria*. Plus: a thoughtful listener restores Robb’s beloved knife set, the guys talk head-shaving mishaps and plans for the final TMOS cruise, thank the founding members helping launch the show, and consider whether a mystery hat is a bargain or an expensive gamble. It’s lost keys, loyal dogs, sharp objects, and questionable headwear—with a burger box holding the answer. Josh and Robb bought the hype, found the golden ticket, and somehow wound up with a notebook full of complaints. In this bonus episode, they take a spoiler-filled trip through Netflix’s Wonka’s The Golden Ticket—a reality competition with spectacular sets, suspiciously camera-ready contestants, an AI Gene Wilder voice, celebrity cameos by webcam, and enough production tricks to make the chocolate river look restrained. The frustrating part? It gets incredibly close to being a genuinely great show. They break down the overproduced golden-ticket reveals, the missing real-world Wonka bars, the strange contestant pairings, the giant gumball disappearance effect, the Wonka-Vator, and the impressive practical magic that kept them watching five episodes in one sitting.Come with us into a world of pure overproduction. Some people visit a haunted attraction to be scared. Robb visits one and learns industry terminology—specifically, the “boohole,” the hidden alcove where a scare actor waits to ruin your evening. In Episode 004, Robb takes Josh inside a Halloween Haunt preview packed with fog machines, monsters, candy apples, suspiciously enthusiastic influencers, and enough booholes to make anyone reconsider throwing a reflexive punch. The guys also imagine retired baseball legend Albert “Boohole,” debate the proper use of a no-scare necklace, and make plans to resurrect the turkey-leg challenge. Then the conversation escapes the maze. Josh samples Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars, the guys pitch “Dancing with the Founders” for the final TMOS cruise, and Robb discovers a Wonka reality competition so bad he cannot stop watching it. There is also a well-earned Hall of Fame induction for founding listener Jolene White, a full-volume rendition of “Copacabana” performed for free sandwich-shop cookies, and an urgent debate over enormous holiday decorations—including a 40-foot teddy bear and the inseparable Miser Brothers. It’s monsters, television, free cookies, questionable landscaping, and one unforgettable piece of haunted-house vocabulary. Robb has spent years believing it was spelled “Traitor Joe’s.” Now the truth—and the groceries—can finally come out. In Episode 003, a parking-lot handoff of collectible Elvis Matchbox cars leads Robb and Josh into the strange world of specialty groceries, suspicious shoppers, vegan marshmallows, chicken pot pies, frozen-food nostalgia, and the realization that the store may not have been betraying anyone after all. Then Josh delivers the follow-up nobody expected: his completely scientific list of the smartest animals he has personally encountered. Chameleons, bees, birds, dogs, alligators, sharks, and several questionable definitions of “intelligence” enter the debate. Plus, the guys preview the upcoming final TMOS cruise, compare restorative “artist weekends,” and prepare for Robb’s return to the high-school football press box—complete with stadium sound effects, deeply outdated music cues, imaginary attendance figures, and advice from the chat. It’s groceries, collectibles, animal rankings, cruise talk, and enough detours to make the title feel almost responsible. It’s *Still Talkin’ 003: Traitor Joe’s*. ## Short Description Robb and Josh investigate “Traitor Joe’s,” reveal an Elvis Matchbox treasure, rank the smartest animals, preview the final TMOS cruise, and build the least current high-school football playlist imaginable. In Episode 002, Robb and Josh discover that mosquitoes may be getting smart enough to work around insect repellent, launching an urgent investigation into DEET, bug intelligence, the animal kingdom’s unofficial IQ rankings, and whether a mosquito could someday outsmart a chicken. The science is unsettling. Their conclusions are considerably less reliable. Then Brian Boone, fact curator for Uncle John’s All-Knowing Bathroom Reader, joins the show to explain how bizarre facts make it onto the page, what it takes to verify the unbelievable, and why bathroom reading became an institution. Plus, the microphones were rolling during Robb and Josh’s Outer Banks adventure. Hear them roam the Wright Brothers museum, evaluate aviation history in real time, and stumble toward an idea they’re saving for the Founders. New show. Same friends. Strong opinions about pizza. Robb and Josh kick off Still Talkin’ with a celebration of the Founders who made it possible—and a $74 pizza lunch Josh can’t let go. From questionable “best pizza” bragging rights to favorite local slices, the conversation becomes a full-blown debate about what makes a pizza worth the price. Plus: Robb’s lifelong obsession with radio jingles, Josh’s questionable AI-generated theme songs, detention memories, unusual Oreo flavors, and the growing headache of streaming subscriptions. It's a special JAR episode, and Robb opens Founder’s Day with dilated pupils, candy-coated cataracts, and a medical plan whose best feature is “insurance might actually pay for it.” Josh and Robb officially welcome the founding members of Still Talkin'—no final G, no time for it—complete with vault access, future swag, and a Hall of Fame probably not carved into the Kennedy Center. Their Labor Day couples trip to the Outer Banks becomes a preview of friendship, podcasting, and the dangerous possibility of jointly owning a hot tub with siblings. Robb then discovers the only surviving film of his grandfather, duckpin champion William “Big Daddy” Stalkup, who looked magnificent and apparently hated every non-regulation frame of it. Robb and Josh take the wheel, and Robb’s missing Cutco steak knife becomes a full-blown domestic crime scene—complete with trash-bag forensics, eBay negotiations, and a dream in which the blade finally comes home. The Jarheads also discover that cursive is now basically an encrypted language, which is unfortunate when a young teacher receives a handwritten note. From there, they inspect celebrity signatures, judge a new Jimmy Stewart biopic, and prove that no tangent is too old-timey for this program. Then they get candid about Mike’s retirement, the future of the show, and what’s next for the Josh-and-Robb era. Finally, AI bands invade Spotify, creativity goes on trial, and everybody leaves wondering whether the real threat is artificial music or an empty slot in Robb’s knife block. This week on Hix Nix Stix Pix, we head into 1930s Los Angeles for one of the greatest—and darkest—mysteries ever put on film: 1974’s Chinatown. Jack Nicholson is private eye J.J. Gittes, a man who thinks he’s investigating an affair until murder, water, money, corruption, and one horrifying family secret reveal something much bigger. We break down Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, the unforgettable Noah Cross, that devastating ending, what “Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown” really means, and whether this legendary neo-noir still holds up in 2026. Forget it, Hix. It’s Chinatown.
