Once upon a time, there was a dog named Sparky. Sparky is a very ugly dog. It has shaggy, black and white fur, and large, brown eyes. Sparky also has a very large nose, and very long ears.

Sparky lives in a small house with its owner, a boy named Billy. Billy loves Sparky very much, but not the other kids in the neighborhood. They called Sparky an "ugly dog" and teased him.

One day, Billy and Sparky were walking in the park when they met a group of kids playing ball. The kids saw Sparky and started teasing it. They called Sparky an "ugly dog" and threw balls at it.

Billy is very sad. He didn't understand why the kids were teasing Sparky. He knew that Sparky was a kind and loving dog.

Billy decides to bring Sparky home and feed him a delicious meal. He also groomed Sparky and played with it. Billy wants Sparky to know that he loves it, no matter how ugly it is.

Sparky is happy to be at home with Billy. He knew that Billy loved him, and that was all that mattered to Sparky.

The next morning, Billy and Sparky were walking in the park when they ran into a group of kids playing soccer. The kids saw Sparky and started teasing it. But this time, Billy won't let them.

Billy walked up to the group of kids and said, "You guys shouldn't make fun of Sparky. He's a kind and loving dog."

The children were surprised to hear Billy say that. They had never heard anyone speak well of Sparky before.

"But it's very ugly," said one of the children.

"It doesn't matter," Billy said. "Appearance is not important. What matters is the person on the inside."

The children looked at each other. They had never thought of it that way before.

"You're right," said one of the children. "We apologize for teasing Sparky."

Billy smiled. "Never mind," he said. "I know you guys didn't mean it."

Billy and Sparky continued walking in the park. The kids watched them, and they began to think that maybe Sparky wasn't as ugly as they thought.

From that day on, the kids never teased Sparky again. Sparky is very happy.
