Come, Jesus Come, pt. 4 - Throne Room Worship

33m | Sep 28, 2026

Passage: Revelation 4–5

John is caught up in the Spirit and sees the throne room of heaven—God on the throne, the elders and living creatures worshiping, and a sealed scroll no one is worthy to open. Only the Lion of Judah appears as the slain Lamb who lives, takes the scroll, and draws all creation into praise. This message reminds us that Revelation is meant to stir faith, not fear, and that worship is ascribing worth to God alone—not to the things we chase on earth.

Key Takeaways:

  • Revelation is not meant to freak you out and leave you in fear—God wins
  • The first thing John sees is God on the throne
  • Even in the throne room, God’s mercy is on display
  • No matter how much the elders have overcome, they lay their crowns before God and worship Him alone
  • No one in heaven or on earth was worthy to open the scroll—only Jesus, the Lion of Judah and the Lamb who was slain
  • These chapters are about worship—and worship means to ascribe worth
  • The ultimate worth for Christians is God and Jesus; everything else is worthless by comparison
  • It’s not how we worship that matters most—it’s who we worship
  • We all ascribe worth to the wrong things sometimes; at the end of the day it’s all about God and Jesus
  • Prayer, Scripture, giving, and the way we live can all be acts of worship
