Questions
What do I need to acknowledge within myself in order to make the changes I want?
Where did I learn my [fill in the blank] habits from? Who did I learn them from?
Do I know anybody else who kind of functions in a similar way?
What are some things that I've learned about myself recently?
How does this particular realization make me feel?
How have people described me in the past? How would they describe me now?
And then how would I describe myself?
What words would people use to describe me when I’m feeling my best/when I’m feeling my worst?
Are there words that I want to be associated with me? What are they? Why those words?
What steps do I think I need to take to be those words if I’m not already?
Processing Questions:
What are the things that I want to hold onto that I grew up with?
What are things that I've been holding onto growing up that I don't want anymore?
What is it? Why don't I want it? Who did it come from? Where did I get it?
What experience caused it? Where did I get this from? Who was it that I interacted with? What's that about? What/where do I feel that comes from?
How am I going to be now?
Broad question: Why am I the way that I am? Am I happy with who I am?
Questions to ask to get closer to the broader questions:
Why am I so angry? Why am I so ornery/argumentative? Why do I have to want to isolate myself?
It starts with asking the question first “Why do I…?” and then saying, who else in my life is like this? If it's nobody else, then it's like, what shows or entertainment am I consuming? What thoughts go through my head when I'm reacting? The goal is to ask questions and to go deeper into that. Why was it this? Why was it all of these? The goal isn't to find an answer, it's to ask questions.
What can I do? What can I control to influence the situation so that I can function better? What are we dealing with? Why am I dealing with this?
What is it that I'm feeling right now? How am I reacting to something right now? That word that you capture, that's the word that you investigate on. Why do I feel like this? It's not a problem, it's a question.
Once you get some clarity:
How will I behave? Am I going to grow?
E30 - 46m - Jan 17, 2024 - PSA: YOUR INPUT NEEDED PLEASE
Would you be interested in such a platform? Do you think it could genuinely help young adults in our community? A simple “like” or comment would mean the world to me. And of course, if you have suggestions or concerns, I'm all ears (just be gentle!).
This episode is essentially me explaining the below message more in-depth.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been nurturing an idea that's close to my heart, and I'm thrilled to finally share it with you all. It's still in the early stages, and I’m hoping to get your honest feedback.
As many of you know, Creating A Village is all about supporting young adults who are navigating life's uncertainties, especially those feeling a bit lost in their life path. We focus on practical life skills and experiences to help overcome life's challenges.
Within the past six months, I've received messages from you asking for advice, sharing your stories, and expressing a need for more in-depth support. This sparked an idea: what if there was a dedicated space where this incredible community could connect more deeply and seek support?
So, here’s the concept: A Creating A Village Membership Site. It's not just an extension of our podcast; it's a whole new way to engage, learn, and grow together.
The potential features (would love to know what you think):
Interactive Podcast Platform: Air your questions and experiences directly on our podcast.
Resource Hub: Access a curated collection of resources from our episodes and community inquiries.
Personal Evaluation Worksheets: Tools to help you self-reflect and chart your progress.
Community Forum: A space to engage with members, ask our podcast guests questions, suggest episode topics, and delve deeper into specific episode discussions.
Virtual and Physical Meetups: Opportunities to connect, network, and share experiences both online and in person.
I believe this could be a game-changer for many of us. But, it’s still a raw concept, and I value your input immensely.
Thanks a bunch for your support and insights. Can’t wait to see what we can build together!
