Kris and David are guestless as we discuss the (almost-)week that was September 20-24, 1992, a Patron-requested show. Matthew Finnie laid down the $25 on our Patreon page for this week because he was at some of the WWF TV tapings in Manitoba, and you can pick your own week by doing the same thing. Topics of discussion include:
- The state of the cable TV wrestling ratings and house show attendance, which were both hitting all-time lows around this time.
- “Cowboy” Bill Watts speaking very candidly to Dave Meltzer about a number of topics in WCW, including Brian Pillman's status, the top rope rule, and lots more in a tremendous look into his psyche at this time.
- A major New Japan show in Yokohama that’s unfortunately best-remembered for the major injuries suffered by Rick Steiner and especially Masahiro Chono.
- The NJPW vs. WAR feud heating up.
- An update on the status of the Takano brothers and the details they gave the media about SWS splitting into WAR and NOW, with SWS owner Hachiro Tanaka providing start-up costs for both and making everyone who signed with NOW sign non-disparagement agreements.
- Nobuhiko Takada defeating Gary Albright for the UWFi’s Real Pro Wrestling World Heavyeight Championship at a major show in Osaka.
- The Junkyard Dog winning the USWA’s Unified World Heavyweight Championship in Memphis.
- Jim Cornette’s plans for the babyface side of SMW getting crushed by the WWF signing Steve Armstrong and Terry Taylor in the same week, with their debuts coming at the TV tapings in Manitoba.
This is one of those rare shows that doesn't have any Saturday TV shows, so there are only a couple of clips, but there’s still a lot of stuff going on here, so take a listen!!!

Plus other WCW talk includes Cactus Jack's impending departure, Jesse Ventura's anger about his standing in the company and how it showed on the PPV, and some “WCW, EVERYBODY!” moments.
- Terry Gordy coming back to AJPW after overdose, Antonio Inoki wanting a piece of George Foreman, big shows in many organizations in Japan, a wild-looking show in England featuring various Americans, AAA doing big business in Mexico, and much more.

Kris and David are joined by Colby Corino (@ColbyCorino) for the first segment of the show as we discuss the week that was June 21-27, 2012. Topics of discussion include:
- A full rundown Ring of Honor's "Best in the World" iPPV from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, featuring thoughts on the iPPV model itself at that time, the structure of ROH as a promotion, Colby being a teenager who was going to shows like this one with his dad, and of course the show itself with analysis of all the matches and angles.
- Claire Lynch's debut in TNA in a wild and wacky angle on Impact, plus we analyze the whole storyline that continued beyond that week. There’s all sorts of other TNA wackiness, too.
- New Japan TV ratings starting to rise again thanks to Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi.
- A couple of big CHIKARA shows, CZW running Tournament of Death, IWC running the Super Indie tournament, and other indie news.
- Scott Hall no-showing an autograph signing and Ric Flair having problems with one of his wives, both of which were common occurrences in that era, sadly.
- The debut of NXT as we know it — the first episode taped at Full Sail University using what was still FCW talent at the time — featuring a look at the future of WWE over the next decade.
- News on Linda McMahon's second U.S. Senate campaign, featuring a pissed off Jerry McDevitt.
- The announcement of the addition of the WWE Main Event TV show, then airing on Ion.
- Raw and SmackDown, which were pretty damn stagnant at that time, featuring lots of Big Show in main event angles.
- A.J. Lee’s relationship arc with CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Kane as the portrayal of women in the promotion was approaching a turning point but still far from getting there.
…and much more.
Colby was great in the ROH section, and the rest of the show was fun as hell, too, so don't miss out!!!!

Kris and David are joined by Joe Sposto (@JoeSposto) as we discuss the week that was May 31-June 6, 2013, which is a Patreon pick submitted by Alan Paisner who pledged $25 to pick the week. Sposto only joins us for the first section of the show, but what a section it is. Topics of discussion include
- The major CHIKARA Pro shutdown angle, where we go highly in depth on why this happened (including attempts to kill some of the more unsavory rumors), with lots of context about what happened after the angle from Joe’s firsthand perspective as then-lead announcer Leonard F. Chikarason. Joe was fantastic in this segment giving us the complete rundown of everything.
- Adam Cole re-upping his ROH contract and why he stayed despite some interest from WWE.
- TNA's Slammiversary 2013 PPV and what a show that was featuring Kurt Angle being announced as their next Hall of Fame inductee and then wrestling A.J. Styles later that night, Bully Ray beating Sting, Hulk Hogan working blue on the stick with Aces and Eights after cutting one of his Ian Rotten promos, Gail Kim’s famously great match with Taryn Terrell, and more.
- The debut of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in TNA and why that came to pass.
- Keiji Muto basically being shown the door in All Japan as their new ownership is making major changes that were polarizing among their fan base.
- New Japan's Best of the Super Juniors tournament featuring a great list of talent but some very questionable booking.
- El Hijo del Santo's son going to train at the NOAH Dojo and what happened there.
- The Shield and Daniel Bryan being heavily pushed on WWE TV with the Wyatt Family on their way, and why that was sorely needed at the time.
- The entire TV situation at the time, which is wild to look at some 10 years later.
This was the most “current” show we've ever done, and it's different for us, but it turned out to be a great show!!

Kris and David are guestless as we discuss the week-plus that was May 16-23, 2000 in a show requested by one of our Patrons, Michael Otts. You can do that yourself dropping a $25 pledge on our Patreon.
Topics of discussion this week include:
- The status of Ric Flair after his in-ring collapse at a Thunder taping, including why WCW kept it on the TV show en route to making an angle out of it.
- Discussion of Thunder and Nitro in general, which is deep in the Bischoff/Russo run and is some of the stupidest wrestling television ever produced. It was entertaining in its own way, but it still made your head hurt. Just mind-numbingly stupid.
- News on the level of morale in the WCW locker room, Bret Hart wanting to come back, and so much “WCW, EVERYBODY!!!!” stuff that it's ridiculous.
- News on Jumbo Tsuruta's funeral and how that has affected the AJPW/eventual Pro Wrestling NOAH split.
- Shinya Hashimoto's "resignation" from New Japan.
- Nise Onita's retirement show at Korakuen Hall, where he got to share the ring with Actual Onita, both as an opponent and tag team partner.
- Martha Hart gives quite the statement in the Calgary Sun on the first anniversary of Owen Hart's death.
- The WWC takes legal action against Savio Vega and IWA Puerto Rico over their attempts to revive the TNT gimmick.
- The ongoing Raven contract release drama in ECW.
- SmackDown, Raw, and the Judgment Day PPV in the WWF, including the return of The Undertaker as well as Triple H and The Rock going 60 minutes in an Iron Man Match, plus all of the other drama going on in and out of the ring in the WWF at that time.
This show is stacked and packed, and just waiting on you to listen to it!!!!!
