- 4. So what do we think about all that ish? Clayton wrap-up
Welcome back listeners, this episode is very special because Emily introduces her Mom, Kathy, as guest co-host! She was hesitant, but as expected had lots to say.
Mom usually tunes in at the end because she shuts the TV off when it's all the "drama with all the girls bein' mean", which is just about as Kathy as it gets. Em's mom is an angel and a caring, empathetic person just like Em so this episode went off without a hitch and lots of mom and daughter banter. We chat everything from finale, hometown reflections, Susie and Clayton's post show relationship, the army of strong women that taught Colto-CLAYTON some very important lessons, our love for Jesse, and everything in-between.
Like mother like daughter, we only have sympathy and hope for everyone involved in this season...even the meathead himself. Oh, and Emily likes Rachel now! Enjoy BBs
DISCLAIMER: Emily is no angel π
44m - Apr 2, 2022 - 3. The selfish journey truly begins - Clayton's hometowns
Hi all! Mrs. Mrs. is back with us, and we chat about Fabletics complaints, the confusing two-on-one, the shopping (borrowing) date, NBC mandated couples therapy, BEING PERFORMATIVE, and of course....Hometowns. Plus lots in between! If you haven't gotten your review, get caught up on the rose shenanigans on Bed Bach and Beyond. Cheers to this season almost being over!!! π ππΉ
1h 2m - Mar 4, 2022 - 2. Lord of The Flies but make it Shanae... catch-up to Ep. 5
Hey ya'll!
Kim and Em are back to catch up on thoughts of Clayton's season thus far. Don't know about anyone else but we've been a little bored with Clayton's season so far and figured we could sum up the drama in one big ole podcast. (Same length as usual lol).
PS: Aubrey is married! Next time we talk to her she will be a Mrs! Until then, miss you Aubs, and enjoy this catch-up full of Kim and Emily bullshitting. Honestly though Kim is impressive with a roster for reference, notes, she on it! Tune in BB's! xoxo
1h 2m - Feb 9, 2022 - 1. Michelle Wrap-up, Clayton's Premiere
Today's episode is super jam packed with awesome because we're wrapping up thought on Michelle's season, saying hello to Clayton's season (cue that meme of the lady on her knees breathing heavy trying to catch up) and we have a brand new guest co-host!!
We are so happy to welcome Kim Alballat to #bedbachandbeyond for this podcast session and more in the future! Kim and Emily have been very close for about 5 years now, both coming from bartending background in NYC and becoming instant friends after being co-workers. We've seen it all...from each other, from complete strangers, from bosses... π€£ Basically she's IT and she's finally on the mic, as it's been a long time coming. Aubrey is wedding prepping and we miss her oh so much, but she'll be back sometime this season!
So press play to hear a little bit about Kim, listen to our thoughts on the ending of Michelle's season and the beginning of Clayton, and of course laugh with us! xoxo Happy listening BB's
1h 30m - Jan 5, 2022 - 5. Michelle Ep. 6/7/MTA- Bailiff, please bring the apology
Okay this title has multiple meanings okay...
Court is in session because Emily needs to be TRIED for the amount of time that's passed since recording...πand also because we tuned in to Michelle's Apology Court last week as she heard each case, accepted each apology as hands continued to raise, and found at least four of those men guilty for spewing bullshit at the Men Tell All (Jamie & Martin especially) lololol
This episode is Emily solo recapping the last THREE episodes we missed, as Aubrey is planning her wedding, guests were busy and this shit had to get done quite frankly.
But it is a FUN episode and a first for Emily to be on the mic solo.
She covers: Brandon's Minnesota one on one/Clayton's exit episode (and Bachelor reveal I mean basically... did you see him crying into that dramatic letter that a bunch of kids he didn't know wrote him and the ten extra minutes of screen time he got AFTER being sent home), Hometowns, & Men Tell All. In record time might we add..Aubrey will be so proud.
1h 15m - Dec 14, 2021 - 4. Michelle Ep. 5- "You can't be prideful, you can't be insecure, you can't be jealous."
Stick to those three Golden rules as Martin stated... coughCHRIScough
So Chris is officially star douche of this production, although Martin ended up coming in close second after putting his foot in his mouth later on at the cocktail party. Surprisingly Michelle decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, pinning a rose on Martin, and not Casey or Leroy. Bye Bye.
Overall, this episode was awesome. Aside from petty drama mentioned above, Michelle is still kicking ass, and nothing gets by her. Two amazing one on one dates with profound conversations, insane chemistry, and food no one touched...and overall she has a great group of grounded guys that are calling bullshit right along side us.
We were excited to record this one, enjoy BB's!
59m - Nov 20, 2021 - 3. Michelle Ep. 4- Every oversized stuffed animal in America: "We feel seen"
This episode was somewhat of a snoozer according to us, but a fun pod episode either way. We discuss Rick's gentle creepiness and bad kissing, Michelle's crippling self doubt in this episode, and of course...what it means to feel seen. Actually we might have not even gone over that. Pretty sure we got a definition of it all hour. πAubrey is a little savage towards Michelle about some choices in this one and Em and Aub disagreed on something AGAIN which is genuinely enjoyable for us, for real.
Talk soon BB's. We got your catch up right here on Bed Bach and Beyond podcast πΉ
56m - Nov 12, 2021 - 2. Michelle Ep. 3- Changing lives one slice at a time π
Spinning, puking, streaking and professing love. Ah, the fantastical world of bizzare Bachelor franchise dates. Michelle is still cool as a cucumber and surprisingly enough the guys are chill enough to protect her from learning about any pointless drama...but not chill enough to NOT create it. Miami Doughbois Will and Peter can't seem to just um...ignore eachother? Anddd Jamie has one of the quickest falls from grace of all time. Eww, Jamie!
Join Aubrey & Em for the next hour and catch up on your Bach recap!
56m - Nov 5, 2021 - 1. Michelle's premiere AND Ep. 2- We did NOT deserve that stair descension
Welcome back one and all!
We missed you bb's!!
Oh what's that? It's only been like...two weeks??
Aubrey and Em are back, in this one they break down the premiere episode as well as episode two. About an hour in we switch over. Michelle seems to not even be phased about her position, is already acting mature, kind of talks to everyone like a teacher, not sure how well that's gonna work, but guys we are on this ride and it ain't stopping. It's also wholesome af so far besides creepy note guy.
Chances are if there's any emergency, Michelle will def be one of those teachers next to the lunch ladies that helps everyone jump out the exit door on the side of the bus though..so we're in good hands.
xoxoπΉ
1h 24m - Oct 31, 2021 - 8. Week 8 BIP - Finale Recap
As our time commenting on hot people drinking on the beach together comes to a close, Aubrey and Emily want to thank everyone for listening and sharing Bed Bach & Beyond!
The ladies share final thoughts on the season, the engagements, and looking forward to Michelle's season of the Bachelorette in a couple weeks.
Cheers BBs and see you for the season premiere!
57m - Oct 13, 2021 - 7. Week 6 & 7 -One for you, one for you, and none for Mykenna Dorn bye.
Hi! let's be honest the last two episodes were kind of low energy cuz like everyone's in love, there's no one for new contestants to date (??), and there's so many cast storylines it's hard to keep track.
Aubrey and Emily go through the last two episodes and focus a lot on the confusing jumble of drama spilling over onto the beach from the hotel, and in combination with 50 storylines happening everyone's like girl what? At least Em and Aubrey were. Where's Tia and why is she so lost in the sauce? Why is Ivan actually a lame and then has to go to the principal's office with BartenderHostPrincipalWells? Do people actually like Aaron? Is anyone going to rescue James from Paradise? The world may never know.
Also WHEN are people going to stop being thrown down the stairs like a gumball machine onto the beach?? Stay with us BB's because that three-hour episode had us all questioning our loyalty to Bach π
1h 14m - Oct 1, 2021 - 6. Week 5 BIP- Ever drink a margarita out of a plate?
Hey ya'll welcome welcome welcome welcome welcome
Hope you enjoyed the last two live reacts! Always trying new things and seeing what works. Do we like the live reacts?
This week Aub and Em are back together and it's always good times. This episode felt like an episode of Couples Therapy, kinda heavy, but a lot was covered and it was still fun. Natasha gets a second shot at love a first in BIP history, and for some reason Wells is still conducting rose ceremonies in his bar shirt. Love you don't change but actually please change the man's shirt that's all we ask. Or bring back Spade. Tami cries a literal river of tears before stealing a cupcake. Kendall bought a front row ticket with reclining seats in 3D for some reason to view her ex sucking face, all before leaving upset/Ivan couldn't read the room. By the end of this episode I think we all just needed a nice hug from Thomas.
Enjoy!
1h 5m - Sep 18, 2021 - 5. Week 4 BIP (Tues) Live react!- No commercials, no filter
We've got a live react fresh outta the oven from the humble abode of Renato and Aubrey. Join them as they react to Tuesday's episode in real time, together *cheesy clip of them holding hands on the couch...jk actually probably fighting over volume nevermind*
For Em's live reaction, check it out exclusively on our new instagram @bedbachandbeyond on the IGTV tab! Bonus BB points for hitting up both! xoxo
Enjoy!
1h 25m - Sep 9, 2021 - 4. Week 4 BIP (Mon) - Better safe than Mari
We're splitting things up this week, so this episode covers only Monday's episode and that's okay because it was AH-LOT. Also the girls are back together for this one and it was a good time to reunite because wow TEA.
They hit us the three dudes that have found themselves in a "pickle" as Demi so drunkly put it - Joe's situation, Kenny's situation, and BRENDAN'S which ends up being the big papa of them all because excuse me wtf. Don't wanna say Em told you so buttttt yeah and also again wtf. One of the craziest situations since BIP began!
For your TUESDAY recap, check out the next podcast episode to hear Renato and Aubrey react LIVE from the midwest!
Want Emily's recap? Show our instagram @bedbachandbeyond some love and catch her react LIVE as well on the east coast! Watchable now on our IGTV...also it's exclusive to the IG and won't be uploaded as a podcast episode.
Double the listening, double the fun, get to it BB's!
54m - Sep 9, 2021 - 3. Week 3 BIP- Two Chains
We wanted to name this episode the face Kenny made when Mari interjected his "I'm now with Demi" speech before the cocktail party, but....can't do that. Instead just a reference to Deandra's bizarre jewelry drama *coughproducerscough*
Anywho, the podcast is joined by another guest this week, Aubrey's fiancΓ© Renato! It was only fitting we hit you with both of the dudes back to back. Aub and Renato discuss week 3 of BIP as newbies and we're here for it. Monday is first 30 minutes, Tuesday is the second.
I think last week is the last double feature week? Who knows. Anything could happen in paradise.
59m - Sep 3, 2021 - 2. Week 2 BIP- Did you guys know Thomas is tall?
Monday is covered first, then Tuesday chat starts around the 30 minute mark!
Special episode this week....Emily is joined on the Bed Bach and Beyond podcast by Jason! Jason and Em have been dating four years and all the while bitching about what happens on every season on everything bachelor...so it's about time!
Kind of had to twist his arm, kind of didn't...but his addition makes for a different type of convo with some couple banter which c'mon thats always super fun.
We miss you Aubrey! Also apparently Jason retired after this 50 minute episode so obviously we're gonna need you back. (He'll be jealous of you next week).
56m - Aug 28, 2021 - 1. Greg's public apology, and BIP Premiere! π
Hi party people, get a drink umbrella and your blender out of your dusty ass cabinet...it's time for some frozen drinks, sandy make-outs, and salty tears!! Bachelor in Paradise is here and we are BLESSED to have David Spade. Don't you ever rip him away from us.
Already so much fun breaking the first episode down, and Aubrey has never seen it at all let alone with CH!! Remember how we mentioned missing his formalities on Katie's season? Well I hope they threw them overboard for Paradise because that sh*t never belonged here! π
Enjoy BB's
46m - Aug 19, 2021 - 7. Bachelor Nation Divided (The finale)
Well we made it! Aubrey and Em go over the last episode of Katie's crazy season. By this point it's pretty much split between people that support Greg and people denouncing his toxic behavior. While no relationship or person is ever perfect, the ladies break down what about the last conversation the ex-couple had was troubling, especially after Greg confidently told the live audience multiple times that he had no regrets. Really? Not even one? π¬
Gaslighting is brought up as well, really diving into the definition and why it's sneaky manipulation (even if the defensive person doing said gaslighting isn't even consciously aware). Since many people used Katie's exposure of the word on the live show against her, we talk about how it may have been glazed over... but the fact that it was mentioned and talked about in such a raw light mattered in terms of progressing. πͺπ»
The ladies also talk about how women who are angry publicly usually get victim blamed or demonized by society, while humanizing the man who hurt her is the easier thing to do. Either way we Stan Katie always for talking about hard things and being brave for women everywhere that night in the hot seat.
Oh yeah and we also gush over Blake and his strength/support for Katie until the very end....and how Greg's "love" for Katie was bullshit.
1h 23m - Aug 13, 2021 - 6. "All I wanted was Katie..." YOU HAD HER. (Hometowns)
Possible trigger warning: emotional abuse
Sooo we can all agree we didn't think Monday's episode would go down quite like this. Aubrey and Emily discuss the first two hometown dates with Blake and Justin, and finish with lots of discussion about Greg of course and his exit from the show for good (we assume).
This podcast episode touched on subjects relating to emotional abuse and personal experience, as well as discussing Katie and Greg's ultimate fall out conversation that went really downhill quickly, and the intense realizations that were made by both our wonderful lead and also the audience viewing it.
This episode was hard for a lot of people to watch, so just know we get real nitty gritty about the feelings that were felt while watching. If you're one of the people confused about why so many people are upset with Greg, this may be informative to you.
59m - Aug 5, 2021 - 5. Threefur?? Pre-hometowns review!
Sorry y'all, this podcast was THREE episodes behind after taking a vacation last week and a recording didn't happen. Apologies!
Em and Aubrey do a warp speed review of the remaining three episodes that needed commentary before hometowns next week (including the Tell-All!).
So basically the episode that Connor leaves and literally everyone cries a river, the next episode that takes Andrew approximately 30 minutes to fully get in the Escalade (π₯), and finally Michael's super unfortunate exit / the Tell-All.
Buckle up! Hopefully some of you are like me and forgot to tune in anyway, so we got everything you need to catch up in a nice little bundle with a pretty bow on top!
