True Crime Time For September 15, 2026 | A Daughter’s Murder Plot, a Deadly Stray Bullet & a Mother Accused

Season 17 | Episode 277
40m | Sep 15, 2026

On True Crime Time For September 15, 2026, Woody Overton opens with an update on #JusticeForMadison, as investigators continue working to find answers in the disappearances of Madison Renee Allen and Stephanie Hevia. Woody discusses information indicating investigators may shift attention from the Morris Road property to an Ash Street location in Zachary, where Thomas Morris previously lived.

Then it’s into the day’s cases.

In Ohio, 18-year-old Brianna Dutcher, her boyfriend Christian Evans, and his roommate Dejamius Payne are accused in the planned killing of Brianna’s mother, Dr. Tamila Dutcher. Investigators say digital evidence revealed conversations surrounding the alleged plot. In an unsettling coincidence, Tamila had previously co-authored an academic paper examining violence and homicide among adolescents.

In Illinois, Corey Walsh is accused of killing her 2-year-old son, Barrett “Bear” Walsh. Prosecutors have raised her interest in the Lindsay Clancy case as part of the circumstances surrounding the investigation, while Walsh’s defense maintains she was experiencing a psychiatric crisis.

And in Nashville, Paris Carlock, 55, was simply doing his job for Frito-Lay inside a Sam’s Club when a bullet fired during an altercation near a neighboring lounge traveled through the store’s metal wall and struck him in the head. Nashville police confirm Carlock died from his injuries and homicide detectives are pursuing leads.

Plus: a California high-school football coach accused of secretly recording students in a locker room, a bizarre mid-flight incident, and a British lawyer accused of repeatedly dining and dashing before leaving the country.

The Ohio case is the strongest title story. The particularly striking element is that Tamila Dutcher had co-authored a paper on adolescent violence years before her own teenage daughter was accused of participating in a plot to kill her. The transcript identifies Brianna Dutcher, Christian Evans and Dejamius Payne as charged with aggravated murder. I independently found contemporary reporting confirming Tamila Dutcher, Brianna Dutcher and Christian Evans; the third defendant’s name is rendered inconsistently in available secondary sources, so I would keep the transcript’s Dejamius Payne only if that spelling matches the source Woody used.

The Paris Carlock story checks out particularly well against the official Metropolitan Nashville Police release: he was 55, worked for Frito-Lay, was conducting inventory in the chip aisle, and was struck by a bullet that passed through the Sam’s Club wall after an argument associated with Lavo Lounge.

And I would not title the episode around #JusticeForMadison today. It is an important opening update, but Episode 277 is clearly a regular multi-story True Crime Time For episode, and the Dutcher case is the strongest hook.
