My name is Randy Bartlett along with Nate Fazalore we are the hosts for the Podcast Show
Appalachia Sports and More
Our plans are for talking with high school student athletes and below about their desires, experiences and passion for whatever sport that they participate in. We’ll also have discussions with their coach(es) and trainers about any strategy to optimize their athlete’s well-being and top-notch performance, not to mention on ways to get other youth off of the couch and video game controllers and involved in any sort of competitive activities.
I’m happy to have one of the local teachers & coaches to assist us with the audio editing and to guide us in our efforts to focus on all sports in Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia (Mineral, Hampshire, Grant & Hardy counties) as well as our neighbors to the east in Western Maryland (Allegany & Garrett counties).
Our plans for Appalachia Sports and more…
Interviewing numerous local student athletes from high school to elementary school aged participants & their coaches. As previously mentioned, we will be interviewing & covering all sports from dance to competitive cheer to organized sports (ie. Football, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball etc.) both school sponsored and youth leagues. Notice that if you have a youth sport and would like for the youngsters to inform all our listeners in their selected sport, the phone number and email address will be listed. Regardless of the sport, if our younger generation is partaking in it, we want to know about and share it with the world. In addition, we will have a weekly show entitled “Way-By Wednesdays” where we will interview former sports participant that are above our focus ages; but had participated in any sport in our area previously. It’s always good to remember all those that have paved the road for this generation and beyond.
In my opinion, the youth in our area have been overlooked by the outside world (namely outside of our immediate area) and sadly most of them have grown discouraged and eventually quit participating in any sport after their high school years has ended. Now is the time for us to inform those that believe we are not just some barefooted country hicks; we have talented youth & strive to be their best in just about every sport imaginable. Welcome to Appalachia Sports and more where we will let the actual athletes, coaches and some fans share their talent, their passion & most of all their dedication to whatever sport they partake in. No sport will be overlooked.
Like & subscribe to our podcast, tell a friend or two and don’t be shy to send us suggestions and information about athletes & topics to cover. We (or at least one of us will attempt to be present) plan on attending all the functions &/or events that is showcasing our future superstars.
