When Hindsight is 20/20 | Pastor Jennifer Woods
1h 13m | Jul 26, 2026Hours before the cross, Jesus told Peter that Satan had asked to sift the disciples as wheat. Peter swore he would never stumble, yet before the rooster crowed he denied Jesus three times and went out and wept bitterly.
This message walks through foresight, insight, and hindsight to show that God saw it before it happened, He saw what you couldn't see in the middle, and He used it to prepare you for where you are going. Just because you are being sifted doesn't mean you are not seen. He wants to turn your sifting place into your shifting place.
Peter went back to fishing, stuck in regret and shame, until Jesus met him back at the fire. The same fire that once represented pain became a place of provision and purpose. Jesus never brought up the failure. He simply asked, "Do you love me?" and said, "Follow Me." God is changing perspectives, because when you look back you won't see where you missed it, you'll see His grace in the sifting place.
You can learn from yesterday, but don't live in yesterday. Hindsight living will keep you on your backside. Vision living keeps you moving forward.
