This is the second episode of Notes from the Borderline — a podcast from the margins, for the people who&#39;ve been left there. Hosted by a survivor of child sexual exploitation and domestic violence. Episode 2 explores the film &#39;Lars and The Real Girl&#39;. It takes a look at the main character&#39;s &#39;delusional&#39; experiences and the communities effective response to them. I draw out what I think are the four main qualities and principles which characterise their response, and which I think can be used as a helpful basis to guide real world responses to seemingly unusual symptoms. I also briefly detail some of my own experiences, and how they differ from his. Please note: When I discuss my own coping skills for dealing with unusual mental health experiences in this episode, I am not making recommendations. There is some mention of stigma/misunderstanding, isolation and mistreatment, but nothing that should be too triggering to listen to.
