Can you be happy and still be funny? Or does comedy need a trauma to work? Happy Not Funny is a weekly podcast hosted by award-winning comedian Michael Malone, who sits down with comedians, writers, actors, and mental health professionals to explore the complicated relationship between humor, happiness, and everything in between. Each episode dives into the stories behind the jokes, whether that be therapy sessions, breakups, grief, reinvention, addiction, joy, or the strange little moments that make us laugh when we should probably be crying. Some conversations are hilarious, some are uncomfortably honest, and most land somewhere in the middle. If you’ve ever wondered why the people who make us laugh the hardest often carry the heaviest things, this is the podcast for you.
