Yazid's army intentionally took the prolonged, quieter route to Damascus and paraded the caravan of prisoners through the Christian cities of Iraq and Syria. However, upon seeing Imam Husayn's head and its miracles, the army's efforts were rendered futile, as even the non-believers were captivated by Imam Husayn.
