This week on the podcast, J.P. Miller is an award-winning author, aunty and spiritual mother to many young people, who shares a first-hand account of what it was like to be a student during integration. As a children's book author, she is the perfect guest to dive into our rich history and heritage of black Americans and people in the diaspora around the world. 

J. P. is a recipient of the 2016 Best Short Stories/Anthologies Award (African American Literary Award) and the 2021 Black Authors Matter Award (National Black Book Festival). She enjoys taking an active role in dispelling stereotypes and tearing down cultural barriers through books she’s written in the Leaders Like Us series and Black Stories that Matter series.
