48m | May 8, 2020

Today on the show we bring you up to date on some of the news stories you may have missed in your feed this week from Chicago, the state and beyond. We discuss another amazing digital commencement opportunity for high school seniors, Illinois’ and Chicago’s new plans for reopening, Corgis and how you can now listen in to Supreme Court case hearings for the first time.

After that Yasmeen brings you an interview with Danya Marou, a 2019 Columbia College Chicago fashion design alumnus, who is launching her debut clothing line centered around modest hijab friendly fashion.

Louise speaks with Gene E. Robinson who is an entomologist and director of the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. They talk asian giant hornets, or murder hornets. We discuss what you need to know about this new invasive species and how you can protect the good native bees in your area.
