Reach Out to God for Your Daily Bread

be reminded that when Jesus taught His disciples to pray He did not 

teach them to ask for their yearly provision, their lifetime supply, 

or a stockpile large enough to remove the need to come back tomorrow. 

He taught them to ask for their daily bread — today's bread, reached 

for today, from a God who has it ready and waiting every single 

morning for the person willing to reach out for it. The provision 

you need for today, the strength that today's challenges require, 

the wisdom today's decisions demand, the peace today's pressures 

will try to steal, and the grace today's failures will need — none 

of it is automatically delivered. It is daily bread. And daily bread 

requires a daily reaching out to the One who bakes it fresh every 

single morning without ever once running out.

This episode encourages you to build the most foundational and most 

fruitful morning habit available to any believer — reaching out to 

God first thing, before you feed your phone, before you feed your 

ambition, before you feed the demands of the day, and asking Him 

specifically and faithfully for everything today requires. When the 

morning feels too rushed to stop and reach out to God, that's your 

signal that today is exactly the kind of day that most needs His 

daily bread — and that no day is too full or too urgent to begin 

with the reaching out that makes everything else possible. Give us 

this day our daily bread. Ask it. Mean it. And receive it.

No matter how self-sufficient or how rushed your mornings have 

become right now, take comfort in this truth: God has been preparing 

your daily bread since before you opened your eyes this morning — 

and everything you need for today is already ready and waiting for 

the moment you reach out and ask for it.
