4 | Post-Boards (STEP1) Thoughts
Episode 4
25m | Jul 13, 2021Boards really taught me about focusing on my own happiness throughout the process of becoming a physician. There's always going to be something next even after STEP1 like STEP2, rotations, or residency applications. If you make this more about enjoyment rather than suffering you are going to not burn out and have a sustainable career.
In this podcast, I also give some tips on the value of practice questions versus Anki.
General Advice:
- Focus on your happiness and do not make studying about suffering.
- Do high-value studying and cut out anything that is not significantly helping you improve.
- Know yourself and your study style. Ignore the noise about what others are doing.
- Avoid social media "infinity pools" (endless scrolling feeds) that suck your time and concentration away.
