I don't know the sound of my mother's voice. I don't know what it's like to drink in her scent when she hugs me. I've never even seen her face...

I find myself looking in the mirror, wondering if I look like her... Wondering if I sound like her... Wondering if she'd be proud of me...

I love this woman who I don't know because she is the reason I'm here...

I'm so desperate to connect with my roots but I don't know where to start digging. In the meantime, I will explore the branches of my tree. This is the beginning of that journey...
