On August 12 - so next week - the show officially relaunches on this same feed as A Thousand Natural Shocks: A Bad With Money podcast. In the last decade of doing this show, I went from “just asking questions” to socialist to even more radical in the last few years. I want the show to follow suit and be more relevant to the current moment for the middle and working classes. In our final Bad With Money only episode, Gabe talks to CPA Michelle Miele about whether or not he’s going to jail for problems with his taxes and the laying off of IRS staffers leading to more difficulty paying the correct taxes. Gabe also shares statistics of who gets punished for “fraud” and who gets away with it and how common cyber attacks are.

Artist and author Tourmaline joins the show to talk about her 20 years of research on LGBTQ icon Marsha P. Johnson, the Black trans woman who was one of the key figures of the Stonewall Uprising. We go through hidden queer history from the hourly hotels where Marsha and her friends could express their genders to turn of the century lesbians to the Black room at Stonewall to bottom surgery at Johns Hopkins in the 60s and 70s.
